March Cottage, when known as Hill View, was owned by Charles and Evelyn Lake. They ran a shop selling sweets, cigarettes and drinks from a dresser in the living room. Access was via the passageway to the back garden, then through the porch and kitchen. A curtain covered the “shop” in the evening. The business closed in the early 1970’s and the cottage was renamed Grebe Cottage by new owners. On yet another change of ownership in 2009, the name changed to March Cottage.
