The 1898 Maugersbury Estate Sale document refers to this property as Pine Cottage and being let to a Mr Wainwright.
When known later as Monks Barn, it was bought by Mrs Elizabeth Ingman. She sold the house in 1967 but retained the garden on the opposite side of the Manor Road on which she had a new property built, i.e., Maugersbury House.
In circa 2016 the stable on the sought end of Monks Barn was converted to residential use and is known as The Hayloft.
