The Old Dairy

The Old Dairy was not in the 1898 Sale of the Maugersbury Manor Estate. Conveyance of 1905 shows this property, known then as Maugersbury Cottage, was sold by Walter Chamberlayne Ingles Chamberlayne to John Henry Hewitt. The document also states that the property had previously been known as The Laurels.

It was still known as Maugersbury Cottage when Edwyna (Bunny) Amy Dening purchased it in 1947. The conveyance lists her mother, Florence Beatrice Dening, as tenant of the vendor.  (Her mother was listed in Kellys as residing at The Cottage between the years 1927 – 1939.)

In 1963 Miss Dening sold the property to Murray and Mrs Dening, retaining the tennis court. At that time the name of the property was changed to The Old Dairy and Miss Dening took the name The Cottage to her new house built on the tennis court.

The garage of The Old Dairy was built in 1972.
