In the 1898 Maugersbury Estate Sale Plan, The Old Forge appeared as separate cottages.
Since 1951 the property has been in use as a single residence and since 2005 it has undergone extensive renovation.
The above photograph shows the rear of The Old Forge (also The Lower House), date of photograph is uncertain.
